Storing Your Distress Ink Foam Pads

I've always stored my foams in little 2x3" baggies with the color name written on the front of the baggie.
I then punched a hole in the top of the baggies and put them on a huge binder ring.
I've done it this way for years- but I've been annoyed with it for awhile now.
While chillin' in JoAnns last week one day, I spied this pink Art Bin container. Heck yeah, it's PINK!!!
So I brought it home. Cause it's pink.

So I took all of the foams out of their baggies,
decided which colors I could handle having on the same foams
(Tim Holtz says use one for each color family, I can't bring myself to do it! But there were a few colors that I could use together, such as Broken China & Tumbled Glass)
I used a fine point Sharpie and put the initials of the color on the side of the foam pad.
Then lined them up in the compartments. Four foams fit into each compartment comfortably.
There's room left over for more, too. I have a few clean ones in there just in case!!

I also wrote the names of each color that is in the compartment and stuck it to the lid.
For the most part I can just look at them and I know what the color is, but there are a few I don't use often, so I feel better having the names in front of me.

Here's your wiener!
Not the best photo, I know, but it made me laugh.
Sam was hanging out on the couch while I worked and when I talked to him, he whipped his head around, and I caught his ear flying in the air!  I love this dog!

  3. Hi Aimee! I followed your link from Things Crafty, I'm a contributing artist there too. Just wanted to drop by and saw your Sam. :) I'm owned by a doxie too, mine is Andi. She's a piebald long haired miniature and she's nine now. The best dogs in the world, hands down. Nice to meet you!
